- Try kayaking or Yamaha all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) through the bushland trails with KI Outdoor Action on Kangaroo Island.
- Enjoy watersports in the Riverland or Murraylands - including jetskiing, canoeing and kayaking.
You'll find lots of adventurous parks and venues around South Australia including:
- City Sk8 - boarding park on North Terrace, Adelaide
- The Beachouse in Glenelg
- Monash Adventure Park, Monash
- Greenhills Adventure Park, Victor Harbor
- St Kilda playground
- Barossa Skate Park in Nuriootpa
There are plenty of family-friendly cycling and walking in and around Adelaide. Go on a family walk along Linear Park. It follows the River Torrens from Athelstone in the foothills through the city to Henley Beach south. You can cycle or walk along this trail, and stop to rest at a picnic site, barbeque area or kite-flying spot.
If the family's fit and you're up for a challenge, hike up Mount Lofty Summit overlooking Adelaide and soak in the panoramic view. Try a morning hike from the city via Waterfall Gully up to the top of Mount Lofty. After the hour's hike through Cleland Conservation Park you're be ready for a lavish breakfast at the Summit Café.
Morialta is a 533-hectare wilderness park of gorges, gullies, flora and winter waterfalls cascading over quartzite cliffs. Its walks, hikes and picnic grounds have been popular since 1915 and no wonder: the park is just 10 kilometres from the Adelaide city centre.
Youthful spirits meet pioneering spirits on a Burra Trail Ride. Join an experienced guide on a tour into the scenic hills at the back of the historic mining town. Or there's the glorious Riesling Trail for fresh air and family fun. Clare Valley Cycle Hire hires bikes for younger cyclists and can even provide baby seats so the whole family can join in.
