Nature for Families
There's so much wildilfe and nature to share with your family in South Australia.
For spectacular nature, a trip to Kangaroo Island is a must. It's the third-largest island off the coast of Australia and is a fantastic experience for the whole family. Kids can share the beach with the country's largest colony of sea lions at Seal Bay. See Little Penguins on their nightly procession from the waters around Kingscote and Penneshaw.
You can go on safari at Monarto Zoological Park in the Murraylands, where giraffes, lions, rhinoceros, zebra, antelope and cheetahs roam freely in a bushland setting.

South Australia offers plenty of opportunity for whale watching (July-October). Head to Victor Harbor or Head of Bight on the Eyre Peninsula. For birdwatchers, we're home to Birds Australia Gluepot Reserve. Read more on our birdwatching page.
