Adelaide Festival Centre

drag onto travel planner

Celebrating its 35th birthday in 2008 and situated in the heart of the city, the Adelaide Festival Centre was the first multi-purpose arts centre built in Australia and maintains its status as South Australia's creative hub - the place where people and ideas connect with each other.

You'll always find something to see and do at the Adelaide Festival Centre, whether it's theatre, dance, music, opera, visual art, markets, children's theatre, and much more. It is also home to three annual festivals - the Adelaide Cabaret Festival (June), OzAsia Festival (August/September) and Adelaide International Guitar Festival (November/December), which attract thousands of local, national and international visitors each year.

You can take a "behind the scenes" tour of the Festival Centre every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am and every Sunday at 11.30am. Peek inside dressing rooms, see the stage shared by some of the theatre's great luminaries, and view performance spaces from the perspective of the performer!

The Artspace is the Adelaide Festival Centre's gallery exhibition space, with a constantly changing program of free entry visual art exhibitions throughout the year, as well as Sunday Spectrum, the Festival Centre's kaleidoscope of fine music and visual art, where the current exhibition provides the theme for the musical performance each week. Artspace hours are 12pm to 5pm (Wednesday to Saturday), and 10am to 1pm (Sunday). Sunday Spectrum hours are 2pm to 4pm, with tickets AUD15.00 adults/AUD10.00 concession, available through BASS or at the door.

The Adelaide Festival Centre's 2008 season of the world's best theatre, dance and music is now on sale offering great savings on ticket prices.
