Adventurous walking trails
If you're after long trekking adventure, South Australia has a trail for you. There's the 1200 kilometre Heysen Trail, named after famous artist Sir Hans Heysen, stretching from Cape Jervis on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula to Parachilna Gorge in the Flinders Ranges.
Or try the Yurrebilla Trail which links national and conservation parks in the Adelaide Hills. The Riesling Trail, one of the first rail-trails to be developed in South Australia, runs 25 kilometres between the towns of Clare and Auburn - approximately two hours drive north of Adelaide in one of South Australia's prettiest wine regions.

South Australia has a myriad of trails designed to show off our native wildlife and flora. Many walking trails are in national parks and regional areas, passing vineyards, historic towns and spectacular landscapes. Forests and old quarries are the playground for off-road adventurers, while tourers and sport cyclists can peddle around one of South Australia's wine regions. For the dedicated mountain bike rider, the Flinders Ranges offers rugged terrain with broad vistas - a true taste of the Outback.
Eagle Mountain Bike Park lies 15 minutes from the Adelaide city centre and offers 21 kilometres of trails dedicated to the fat tyre enthusiast. Facilities exist for cross-country and downhill and incorporate a skills park, jump park and trials area.
For a more secluded ride in the Adelaide Hills try Cudlee Creek near Lenswood with its established cross-country and downhill tracks.
