Birds Australia Gluepot Reserve

drag onto travel planner

A special part of the Riverland is Birds Australia Gluepot Reserve - it's a birdwatcher's paradise.

The reserve is home to rare and endangered plants, birds and animals, including 18 nationally threatened species of birds such as the Black Eared Miner, Red-lored Whistler and the Mallee-fowl, as well as 50 species of reptiles and 12 species of bats. Follow its walking and cycling trails or take to the 50 kilometre drive trail.

Local volunteers manage the reserve, and visitors are encouraged to participate in research and monitoring projects to help maintain a sustainable future for wildlife and the natural environment within the Riverland. The reserve is 64 kilometres north of Waikerie.
