Bike SA runs the Adelaide City Bikes scheme, sponsored by the Adelaide City Council. A free daily bike hire program for tourists, visitors, city workers, students and residents who see the Adelaide City Bikes as a convenient way to get around the city, whether for a business meeting or just catching up with friends.
Bike SA also has a range of hybrid and off-road bikes available for multi-day hire. You can hire a Gemini Crossway 225 hybrid bike, or if its a MTB you're looking for then choose from a Mongoose Rockadile, Avanti Ridge Rider or Escape.
To take advantage of the Adelaide City Bikes scheme, all you need is either your current driver's licence or passport. Your ID will be held as a deposit for the duration of the hire and will be given back to you when you return your Adelaide City Bike to the point of hire.
There are a total of seven nodes spread across Adelaide. You can hire a City Bike from any of the participating nodes during their opening hours. Note that opening hours vary from node to node. You can find a list of all nodes at the Bike SA website.
