Lavender Federation Trail

Details
The Lavender Federation Trail is a linear walking trail of 167 kilometres through diverse countryside traversing the eastern flanks of the Mt Lofty Ranges. The long distance linear trail currently extends from Murray Bridge to the Sturt Highway north of Truro but with spur trails allowing easy access to the main trail where it bypasses townships. In addition, loop trails allow walkers to start and finish at the same location. The loop trails are located at Murray Bridge, Tungkillo, Eden Valley, Springton, South Rhine and Moculta. In total, 224 kilometres of trail are now open for you to enjoy. The next section to Eudunda via Dutton plus a loop trail is currently being planned and will add 55 kilometres when completed. The trail has been constructed and maintained entirely by volunteers. Sections in the Barossa are shared with the Mawson Trail and most sections are accessible for use by off-road cyclists. From the trail head at Murray Bridge, sections are being upgraded to cycling/wheelchair/stroller standard. Maps are available from Regional Information Centres, tourist operators and outdoor stores.
