Established in 1851 by Robert Norman, the Normanville Hotel is well over 160 years old! Some original wooden roof shingles remain in the roof cavity above the bar.
The hotel hosted the first meeting of the newly formed Yankalilla District Council in 1854. Court hearings were also held at the hotel until the local courthouse was built.
Many old bottles, coins and other historic items were discovered over the years. Some of these items are on display in the hotel. Old photos of the district are also on display. The hotel is featured in a local history trail.
The hotel was beautifully refurbished and expanded in 2003 to offer modern dining and function facilities while respecting the historic character and charm of the building. An outdoor dining area was added in 2013.
Situated in the seaside village of Normanville, the historic hotel offers friendly service, fresh a la carte dining, bar and take-away services with a strong emphasis on local products including locally produced wines and craft beer.
