Enjoyed amid warm March days and starry nights, Adelaide Festival’s celebration of creative excellence makes for an event of truly epic proportions. In 2018, Joint Artistic Directors Neil Armfield AO and Rachel Healy return to the helm for their second Adelaide Festival.
With 4 world premieres, 14 Australian premieres and 13 event exclusive to Adelaide, the 2018 Adelaide Festival is not one to be missed.
The festival begins with a resounding bang, as The Lost and Found Orchestra kicks off the opening weekend with a family friendly extravaganza at Elder Park over two nights. Then in an Australian premiere exclusive to the Adelaide Festival, Hamlet sees Shakespeare's greatest play given new life as a darkly complex opera. We see the much awaited return of Grace Jones to Adelaide after 36 years, for one night only; and see Cécile McLorin Salvant make her Australian debut in an Adelaide exclusive performance.
