Clipsal 500 Adelaide

Start date: 02 March 2017

End date: 05 March 2017

Clipsal 500 Adelaide is Australia's largest ticketed domestic Motorsport event, and the first round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. First held in April 1999 as the Sensational Adelaide 500, it was staged as a motor racing event over 3 days until being extended to 4 days in 2003. The Adelaide street circuit was created in 1985 for a round of the FIA Formula One World Championship, bringing Grand Prix racing to Australia for the first time. An icon of the Events and Tourism calendar in Adelaide for the past 18 years, Clipsal 500 Adelaide continues to evolve and introduce exciting on and off-track attractions; including Stadium Super Trucks, Enduro-X, concerts from Rob Thomas, ICE HOUSE and Peking Duk, and themed exhibitions Cars of the Screen. In 2016, Clipsal 500 Adelaide welcomed 263,500 patrons over the four days including 13,500 interstate visitors; and injected over 65 million dollars into the State - the highest ever recorded.
