1 Day Flinders and Outback Tour
On this full day tour (eight hours) we spend the first four hours showcasing the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park which offers an abundance of wildlife including the Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby, as well as Red kangaroos, Western Grey kangaroos, Euros or Wallaroos as well as some spectacular bird life.
We look at the amazing ancient geological rock formations of the Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges, and including a viewing of an ancient marine fossil - the Archaeocyatha Fossil – 530 million years old.
The scenery is stunning and diverse – from deep inside the gorges to the open expansive view from the Razorbacks Lookout.
Next we head approx 100 kilometres north east of Wilpena Pound – to a place called Chambers Gorge. This location is less visited by tourists – but something really special!
There is an optional two hour nature walk, which encompasses viewing ancient petroglyphs (aboriginal rock art) and elevated views overlooking Mount Chambers Creek.
The day includes morning tea – and lunch.
