The Whale Watchers' Way - Coast Walks, Big Views
Walks with Nature takes you on guided walks along the Heysen Trail, one of Australia's great long-distance walking trails. This walk on the Fleurieu Peninsula is close to Victor Harbor and takes in spectacular views of the coast and long sandy beaches.
The Fleurieu Peninsula is also one of the most accessible whale watching regions. The Southern Right Whale appears along the coastline between May and September. On your first day's walk and after lunch it’s time for a wildlife and sightseeing tour (weather permitting). Departing from near Granite Island at Victor Harbor we head out on a licensed whale watching vessel to look for sea lions, seals, dolphins, and maybe a Southern Right whale.
After each walk there is time for guests to experience the food and wine of the region. You will visit a winery, a distillery, and enjoy lunches prepared from local produce.
The four day tour includes transport to and from Adelaide, accommodation, most meals and guided walks on two days. The two walks are three hours and five hours long and graded moderate.
