Murray River Walk- Four days, three nights
Murray River Walk is a four-day three-night guided walk along the creeks, wetlands and river departing from Renmark in South Australia. We provide accommodation each night on a modern 10 berth houseboat that travels each day to our walking destination.
Our expert guides provide interpretation in Aboriginal culture, local history, nature and bird-watching along a route that is entirely within the Riverland Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. 179 species of birds including 63 waterbirds have been recorded in the region.
Highlights include a spectacular clifftop walk to watch sunrise over the river valley, walking through ancient red gum forests and kangaroos and emus abundant along the journey. Enjoy hot showers and a top deck spa after a day walking, a creek cruise in Murray River National Park, passage through Lock 6 and superb local three course dinners paired with local wines.
Murray River Walk departs each Monday morning from April to September. Group size ranges from four to 10 people. Our walking route is easy to moderate and covers 40 kilometres over three days with a final day cruising and lunching at the Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery on the banks of the Murray River.
