Mighty Murray Way road trip highlights:
Renmark. Wilkadene Woolshed Brewery is located in historic 100-year-old shearing sheds with stunning views of the river. Enjoy a cuppa in Australia's largest rose garden, Ruston's Roses. Rent a kayak and explore the riverbanks from the water. Stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables from the road side stalls.
Waikerie to Swan Reach via Morgan - 2 hours. Stop at Caudo Vineyard Cellar Door which is only metres from the Murray River. The Morgan Historic Port charts early life in the area. Take a Big Bend by Night tour to see the river's amazing nocturnal wildlife. Walkers Flat cliffs are a must-see.
Swan Reach to Goolwa - 2 hours. The Mannum Dock Museum and PS Marion restored riverboat give an historic overview of the region. Go wild at Monarto Zoo, relax and wind down on a river cruise and quench your thirst at Langhorne Creek's cellar doors.
Goolwa to Adelaide - 90 minutes. Goolwa Wharf precinct is home to a visitor information centre and the Goolwa Wharf Markets. Take a ride on the SteamRanger Heritage Railway, known as the Cockle Train, to Victor Harbor. Hop on board a Spirit of the Coorong cruise which departs from the Goolwa wharf, head over the Hindmarsh Island bridge and stay at Narnu Farm. For the adults, there's One Paddock Currency Creek Winery.
