Introducing three fantastic new events to get you off the couch and out of the house this winter.
Throughout spring, summer and autumn, South Australia plays host to a cacophony of fantastic festivals and events including the Adelaide Fringe, WOMADelaide, Adelaide Festival and St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
But what to do in our cooler months?
While snuggling up fire-side, warm drink in-hand is a pleasant enough pass time, here are three awesome new winter events to get you out of the house and dancing into our vibrant city streets.
Guitars in Bars
Guitars in Bars is a special feature of the Adelaide Guitar Festival, showcasing the talents of our best string strummers in local venues throughout South Australia.
The Adelaide Guitar Festival runs from 11 to 14 August with more than 300 diverse artists performing all around Adelaide.
Guitars in Bars runs before The Adelaide Guitar Festival, from 15 July to 10 August, and includes both ticketed and free events in pubs, clubs, bars, restaurants and exhibition spaces all across South Australia.
Week one will see gigs at Adelaide’s Wheatsheaf Hotel and La Boheme, as well as further afield at The Victor Harbor Hotel, Sails at Clayton Bay and Angas Plains Wines.
Week two kicks off with performances at Boomers on the Beach, the Adelaide Festival Centre and The Aussie Inn, then heads to the Avoca Hotel and ends with a special performance by Ella Hooper at The Royal Oak Hotel.
Week three begins at the beautiful Bird in Hand Winery, then hits the city at Jive, the Grace Emily and new Adelaide bar, Mississippi Moon.
Week four starts with gigs at The Mile End and the Art Gallery of South Australia, before finishing up at the Adelaide City Library and swanky 2KW.
