It’s been a tragic start to the summer with bushfires in the Adelaide Hills and on Kangaroo Island. However, both regions are open and it's safe for people to travel. Like with any place you travel, it's good to be aware of the emergency services agencies for the area you're in. For South Australia, these are:
Country Fire Service (CFS) - bushfires, controlled burns, fire alarms, grass fires, trees down and vehicle accidents.
State Emergency Service (SES) - heatwave, extreme storm and flood warnings.
Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) - building fires, bushfires, chemical spills, gas leaks and smoke in area.
Traffic SA – road closures.
