A tribute to Julian Bream with Paul Nash
Next Occurrence : 10 Jul 2021
Regarded as one of the most distinguished classical guitarists of the 20th century, the late Julian Bream boasted a career spanning five decades.
The Classical Guitar Society of Victoria presents a reflection on the Grammy award-winning musician, who had more than 30 major works written for him by many of the world’s leading composers – including Benjamin Britten, Willian Walton, Malcolm Arnold and Leo Brouwer.
CGSV President Paul Nash and a selection of very special guests will host this homage featuring conversations and performances of pieces played and inspired by Julian Bream. Since his passing last year, this is the first 'festival' opportunity to gather and celebrate the truly remarkable life and career of one of the guitars greatest icons.
Matthew’s other projects have included a rescoring of the classic silent film Nosferatu, along with Car-cophony, a performance piece for 12 cars and their stereos which appeared at Sydney Festival 2013 for its Parramatta Opening Party.
Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre's Guitar Festival.
