Chinese Music Concert
With a history stretching over thousands of years, Chinese music is one of the world’s oldest and greatest musical traditions. From the restrained, poetic sounds of the guqin played by a solitary scholar, to the raucous music accompanying China’s many festivals, music evokes the essence of Chinese culture in sound.
The tradition continues today (accommodating itself to the modern world), with traditional instruments likely to be joined by electric guitars or laptops. Join the Elder Conservatorium Chinese Orchestra, the Chinese School of Music and Art, and guest artists in celebrating the fabulous sounds of Chinese music.
