Edinburgh Air Show 2019
Next Occurrence : 09 Nov 2019
RAAF Base Edinburgh will open its gates to the public for an exhilarating Air Show on 9–10 November.
The two day event in Adelaide’s northern suburbs will showcase the advances in aviation technology in the 100 years since Sir Ross and Sir Keith Smith made their epic flight from England to Australia.
Visitors will have a rare opportunity to see some of the Australian Defence Force’s most advanced military aircraft and technologies, including the latest fifth generation fighter aircraft, the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter.
Crowds can expect to see more than four hours of flying displays each day with ADF fast jets, transport and rotary wing aircraft taking part.
More than 60 exhibitors will have stands in the commercial trade hall, focusing on aeronautical and aerospace education and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
The theme of the Edinburgh Air Show is Vimy to Fifth Generation in 100 Years, and a range of vintage aircraft will be on display.
The theme commemorates the Centenary of the epic flight in 1919 of notable South Australians Sir Ross Smith and his brother, Sir Keith Smith, who flew from England to Australia in a Vickers Vimy to win the Great Air Race.
