Festival of Motorcycling South Australia

The Festival of Motorcycling invites motorcycle enthusiasts to South Australia to enjoy an exciting motorcycle-oriented week of events 1-9 of October.

The curtain raiser for the week is a whole-day ride though the Mid-North of the State, designed for touring-motorcycle enthusiasts. The “Painted Silos”, event will take participants on a tour that encompasses visits to view the State’s giant murals in regional centres.

The program of six days of organised rides covers different scenery and attractions in the Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula, Mid-North, Murray Land and Barossa Valley regions.

The All-Motorcycle Swap Meet at Balhannah is included in the schedule.

The “Night of Champions” evening event will feature first-hand accounts of racing by motorsport greats, in an interactive format accompanied by a light dinner. The speakers will be Jim Scaysbrook (OAM), motocross and TT racer, motorcycle journalist and editor of Old Bike Australasia magazine; Gavin Porteous, Grand Prix sidecar racer, and Murray Johnson, motorcycle importer and drag racer. There will be historic race bikes displayed, including an ex-McCulloch Yamaha TZ500 and ex-Chaz Davies WSBK Ducati. The bikes will be started up as an auditory treat for fans.

The Festival culminates in a “Cavalcade Parade” and two-day public display at historic Hart’s Mill, Port Adelaide, representing 120 years of motorcycle manufacture.

Get in early, registrations are now open and tickets for some events are limited.
