Screen Weaves is the essence of protection and connection, redefining perceptions amidst the backdrop of conflict and weaponry.

In this provocative window installation and exhibition, Afghan artist Sher Ali invites viewers to contemplate the delicate balance between visibility and protection. Much like a screen that filters and shapes our environment, these artworks explore the layers of meaning behind shielding ourselves from the turbulence of weapons and civil unrest or exposing ourselves to the world around us.

Inspired by the protective instincts inherent in shielding homes from flies and insects, Screen Weaves delves into the concept of safeguarding peace amidst turmoil. Just as we secure our homes against unwelcome intrusions, this exhibition represents a desire to weave a barrier against the chaos of conflict. Through threads of resilience and a yearning for tranquillity, the screen weaves will be the shield to serenity in a world often shaken by discord.

These works contain imagery that may be challenging for some viewers. Viewes are encouraged to read the artist statement to understand more about the work.
