UniSA AR Workshop & Hackathon
Next Occurrence : 12 Nov 2021
UniSA Creative and the Australian Research Centre for Interactive and Virtual Environments (IVE) are delighted to collaborate with the Light Adelaide's IMMERSE to showcase the latest in the fusion of Augmented Reality (VR/AR) with the creative arts.
During these free sessions, Prof Mark Billinghurst, Deputy Director of IVE, will deliver two 2-hour workshops on the use of one of the most commonly utilised AR tools in the creative arts: Lens Studio by Snapchat (https://lensstudio.snapchat.com/). Following each workshop, PhD students from UniSA Creative and UniSA STEM will work with individual or groups of artists to put their skills and creative to the test using Lens Studio, in the form of a hackathon. All submitted Snap AR apps will go into judging on Saturday afternoon to award the best designs of the festival - with winning entries showcased during the remaining weeks of IMMERSE. Registrations are limited - so please book to avoid missing out! Participating artists will simply need to bring themselves, their ideas and laptops, and will be provided with a space to work, a display space that is suitable for their creations, expert tuition on the use of the Lens Studio, and on-tap continuous support from the crème-de-la-crème of PhD students from both UniSA Creative and UniSA STEM.
