Depart Adelaide and travel through the northern suburbs and the Adelaide Plains to the Clare Valley. Visit historic Kapunda, Sevenhill Winery and Church, South Australia’s first winery. Continue through the Southern Flinders Ranges to Hawker and Rawnsley Park. Visit a local art gallery and overnight at Rawnsley Park or Hawker. Meander through central Flinders Ranges via Bunyeroo, Brachina and Parachilna Gorges. Walk into Wilpena Pound and view Australian wildlife at peace with nature. Learn about the pioneering and cultural heritage of the area. Take the Ridge Top Tour into the most rugged part of the Flinders Ranges. Taste bush tucker from the Quandong Cafe, visit Talc Alf, the Ochre Pits and Farina. After a scenic flight over Lake Eyre take a journey along the Oodnadatta Track and stop off at Lake Eyre South, the Mound Springs and the William Creek Pub. Overnight at William Creek. Travel to Coober Pedy. View Australia’s longest fence and visit the Umoona Mine and other Coober Pedy Sites. Experience underground accommodation in Coober Pedy and the Breakaways. Travel to Woomera and visit the heritage centre, rocket and plane park. Return Adelaide via Port Augusta. Visit the Wadlata Centre and view a long wooden jetty.
