The Barossa Regional Gallery, together with The Barossa Council, is pleased to present:
ALTITUDE SOUTH
EXHIBITION BY DAVID DAHLENBURG, PAUL HOELEN & TIM WRATE
Altitude South is a marvelously rich visual photographic project created by intrepid aerial photographers David Dahlenburg, Tim Wrate and Paul Hoelen.
An ambitious project that took over two years of planning and execution, Altitude South was a 4000km journey around the remotest parts of South Australia in a light aircraft over a meticulously planned route to capture images of some of the least known and photographed features and areas of the state.
Altitude South is a visual exploration of the cultural, historic and modern legacy written into the raw and powerful landscape of South Australia.
Often abstract with little sense of scale or context, the purpose of the project was to create images that aimed to look past the obvious to seek deeper meaning and explore the powerful connection to country the photographers felt while undertaking their audacious journey.
To be opened by Rhiannon Pearce, State Member for King, Assistant Minister to the Deputy Premier on:
16 JUNE 2023
at 5:30PM
at the Barossa Regional Gallery
3 Basedow Road, Tanunda 5352
All welcome. Free event.
