The Strand Gallery is located in an heritage listed building , formally the Post Office built in 1906. Port Elliot is approximately 1 hour drive South from Adelaide and is a popular destination for visitors with its beautiful beaches and dramatic seascapes. The gallery shows contemporary sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, textiles, paintings and photography from artists from the Fleurieu Peninsula. Exhibitions of new work are presented every 4 to 6 weeks. There is a specific focus on seascapes, nature and the environment. The gallery is connected to Thunderbird Restaurant which features local wines and seasonal produce and also shows work from the artists at the Strand Gallery.
<p>Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids)</p><p>Caters for people who are deaf or have hearing loss.</p><p>Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. (includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia)</p><p>Caters for people who use a wheelchair.</p>
