Southern Fleurieu Regions Relay For Life
Next Occurrence : 19 Oct 2019
Relay For Life is a community fundraising event for Cancer Council. Teams of friends, families, colleagues and sporting teams raise funds in the lead up to an overnight event, where team members take turns walking/running around a track to signify that cancer never rests, so neither do we.
Organised by passionate, local volunteers, each Relay event is an experience that will stay with you forever.
Everyday 27 South Australians hear the words you have cancer, which means that everyone has been touched by cancer either directly or indirectly and the importance of continuing our fight for a cancer free future.
Cancer Council remains the largest independent funder of cancer research in Australia investing over 60 Million into research and in South Australia Cancer Council SA funded 33 research projects last year.
As we are not government funded, the investment in research can only be done by the generosity shown by South Australians who participate in events like Relay for Life and raise funds for the Cancer Council SA. Last year, thanks to generous fundraisers, $4 of research was completed for every $1 donated.
