Katnook Coonawarra Cellar Door.
Overview
Rated as a top attraction in Coonawarra by Trip Advisor.
Nestled in the heart of Coonawarra, Katnook’s historic Cellar Door was built by regional wine pioneer, John Riddoch. Today, visitors can experience this beautifully renovated limestone building, featuring local stone and timbers.
Open daily, the Katnook Cellar Door offers cheese platters, free tastings of all wines (yes, even the $100 ones) , a lounge area with open fire in winter and a 'terra rossa pit', profiling Coonawarra's famous soil. There is also "gold coin donation (to local charities)" tea and coffee available. Gorgeous historic buildings are available for weddings or functions and tour groups are welcome by appointment.
Katnook wines are exported to most wine drinking countries, and rated a 5 star winery by James Halliday. We have 3 wines in the prestigious Langton's Classification of Australian wines and are the official wine for Opera Australia, the nation's largest performing arts company. Come and find out what makes Coonawarra special at Katnook - where a warm welcome awaits.
