Silver Clay Jewellery - Discovery Workshop with Cindy Durant
Next Occurrence : 02 Apr 2022
Cindy Durant is a multi award-winning regional artist, born in California before discovering the quiet, wide open spaces of the far West Coast of South Australia. From her studio in Penong, Cindy creates a huge variety of amazing works from kiln-formed and lamp-worked glass, metal clay and mixed media jewellery, original screen printing, and vitreous enamels on metal, that are in collections worldwide.
In her workshops she will guide you through the process of working with silver metal clay to create your own stunning hand crafted jewellery.
Metal clay enables you to shape, mould and texture your pieces in clay form. When the pieces are kiln-fired, the binding medium is burnt out leaving only the precious metal.
Saturday's session is focussed on creating unique earrings or pendants using silver clay using various textures and tools. Each participant should be able to make several pieces depending on the size of their creations and how quickly they work. Pieces will be ready to take home at the end of the day.
Suitable for beginners or more advanced participants.
**Cost includes $65 for materials, which includes 15g of Aussie Fast Fire Silver Clay, sterling silver ear wires and a fire safe cubic zirconia if desired.
Lunch is provided.
