Two Wheeler Creek Wines is home to the most westerly vineyard on the island. Its particularly cool climate produces excellent white wines. Two Wheeler Creek Wines' cellar door can be found at Parndana, and is conveniently open for tastings seven days a week. While you're there, enjoy freshly caught marron, one of Kangaroo Island's delicacies.
Bay of Shoals Wines has a maritime theme. It can be found north of Kingscote, overlooking Bay of Shoals and Reeves Point. The cellar door is open seven days; try Rosé, Sparkling Rosé and late harvest Riesling. The vines are hand pruned and the grapes, handpicked.
Dudley Wines is one of the island’s original wineries. The cellar door is open seven days. Drop in and taste the full range. Stay for the afternoon and relax on the deck overlooking Backstairs Passage (the section of water separating the island from the mainland). Indulge in a platter of regional produce.
False Cape wines have excellent varietal characters and age well. The Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet are award winners. Tastings are available at the Kangaroo Island Seafront Resort in Penneshaw.

Something more spirited
For something different, try Kangaroo Island Spirits. It’s the island’s only boutique distillery. Its range includes six liqueurs, three vodkas and a premium gin. The cellar door is open Wednesday through Sunday.
Rookery Wines is a boutique winery, run by the Lovering family who have lived on Kangaroo Island for three generations. Cellar door tastings are available at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus and Craft Gallery.
Sunset Winery is one of the island’s oldest. Set among native bushland, enjoy a glass or two surrounded by birds, kangaroos, goannas and echidnas. Enjoy a light lunch on the all weather deck – the cellar door has sea views over Eastern Cove and is open daily.
