Finest produce
Great food makes excellent wine an even better experience. With the Southern Ocean on one side and some of South Australia’s best farmland on the other, it's no surprise the Limestone Coast produces sensational food.

Throw in warm summers, cold, wet winters and a long ripening season and you’ve also got perfect grape growing conditions. The Coonawarra is renowned for its robust reds and the Sauvignon Blancs from the cooler coastal wineries have a very good reputation.

Not only does the region produce some of South Australia’s best seafood, there’s also succulent lamb, delicious beef, prized duck, venison, kangaroo and even emu. The unique terra rossa soil means potatoes and strawberries are among the best in Australia.

Follow the trail

To help turn your food and wine experience into a real holiday highlight, our local producers formed the Limestone Coast Real Food and Wine Trail.
