Immerse yourself in sound, light and vision in stunning Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama for the spectacular Aus Lights on the River, a free event to be held over five nights as part of the Australia Day program in Adelaide.
Stroll through the park and explore your connection to nature and belonging to Country. Experience the 9.5 metre tall AirLume, illuminated with artwork by local school students to depict bushfire recovery.
See the story of the River Torrens/Karrawirra Parri projected onto a water screen in the river and watch a performance by the Tjarutja Dance Collective. Swim with virtual whales and stingrays in the iconic Elder Rotunda and spot virtual wildlife in the the trees.
Hear South Australians talk about what Country means to them and watch the creation of a giant First Nations sand painting .
Try local food and drinks in the food hub, open from 5.30pm, overlooking the attractions along the river. The light show starts at 8.30pm.
Aus Lights on the River is assisted by the Australian Government through the National Australia Day Council and supported by the Government of South Australia, Department of Premier and Cabinet.
All Australia Day activities will be managed in accordance with current SA Health COVID-Safe measures. Masks must be worn by all patrons aged 12 and over. Please check our website for entry requirements .
