WHAT’S ON THIS MONTH IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA

South Australians love to host — and you’re all invited. Every week, all year round, you’ll find somewhere to come together, meet locals and celebrate what’s made here.

This month, taste local produce pushed to its limits. At Gutsy Kangaroo Island, the fire is lit and the vintage is in the barrel, and at Winter Reds Festival sip our premium cool-climate red wine. Celebrate the wild at the Winter Whale Fest, where the Southern Right Whales return to the coastline and unearth something extraordinary at Coober Pedy Opal Festival — a sparkling tribute to nature’s underground artistry. Art also takes centre stage during SALA Festival, with open studios, pop-up galleries and creative surprises across the state. If you’re a sport lover, you’re in luck: The Santos Wheelchair Rugby World Challenge is set to draw a crowd at finals on Sunday June 1st — it's only the second time the event has taken place in Adelaide (last year in the form of championships only) and this year will see international paralympic teams come in. You can also see the best of swimming at the 2025 Australian Trails and gear up for rugby fans from around the world to witness the British and Irish Lions play in Adelaide for the first time in almost 140 years.
