The Murray River is currently experiencing high river flows. High river flows are a way of keeping the river environment healthy, strong and sustainable.

Current advice is that it is still safe to travel to the Murray River regions – visitors are encouraged to be aware of the hazards, plan ahead and act responsibly.

Travel advice Outback roads

Parts of outback South Australia have recently experienced flooding and there are still some warnings, changing road conditions and road closures in place. Please review the latest advice and information available via the Department for Infrastructure & Transport website before visiting impacted regions. 


Travel advice Bushfire season

Bushfire season in South Australia generally runs from November to April each year. Before travelling during this period, review current bushfire information from the Country Fire Service (CFS) including current alerts, warnings, restrictions and safety tips.


Harmful algal bloom

South Australia is currently experiencing algal blooms in some water bodies. Travellers are encouraged to be aware of the risks associated with water affected by algal blooms and to follow official advice before using or entering these waters.
