The goal of Science in the Pub is to promote understanding of and enthusiasm for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the general public. Their monthly gatherings are held on the last Friday of each month. Science in the Pub brings together anyone who may or may not consider themselves scientists, in the shared interest of understanding, critiquing, debating, and learning more about current issues in science.

The Science of Making Babies: Pregnancy needs the immune system (in collaboration with the Australian and New Zealand Society for Immunology - ASI)
Did you know that getting pregnant requires the immune systems of both parents? Semen from the father triggers immune responses in the mother that can help or hinder fertility. The woman’s uterus can be very choosy about accepting the male contribution! And without the immune system, producing breast milk for the baby is impossible. See the event link for panellists.

Please join them on Friday 28th June at the Adelaide Irish Club (13-15 Carrington St, Adelaide). The event kicks off at 6:00 pm and will finish by 7:30 pm. Doors open at 5:30 pm. All drinks are to be purchased at the bar but guests are welcome to bring their own food. Attendance is free, but please register so the venue can set up seating. They recommend arriving early to secure your preferred seating.
