Tasting Australia Airlines — Northern Flinders Ranges
Adelaide
From $2,295.00
True food adventure leads you beyond the horizon. It encompasses an outback landscape dotted with fossils preserved in wondrous detail. A night sky so dark it will remain a memory forever, and tables flanked by river stones and eucalypts.
Explore the northern Flinders Ranges with Tasting Australia Airlines. Your journey – hosted by renowned professor John Carty and Adnyamathanha man Damien Coulthard, along with other Adnyamathanha custodians – will begin with a chartered flight from Adelaide to Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.
Lunch is to be served at Stubbs Waterhole, among highlights of this vast property, and prepared by Danielle Alvarez and Shannon Fleming.
Take an afternoon stroll around the sanctuary before travelling by four-wheel-drive to a gloriously scenic vantage point. Food educator Rebecca Sullivan, together with Coulthard, will prepare sunset snacks using native produce from their Warndu range, then turn to a dinner served fireside.
Gaze skyward during an astronomy experience hosted by Arkaroola owner Doug Sprigg, complete with purpose-built binoculars and comfortable camp chairs. It will be followed by supper.
Stay overnight at Arkaroola and enjoy breakfast in your room before a short flight to Leigh Creek and a coach transfer to Nilpena Ediacara National Park for a tour of its fossil beds.
Reflect over lunch at the nearby Prairie Hotel, a beloved outpost with outback views. The return flight to Adelaide landing early evening.
