Kiin (Thai for ‘eat’) is the creation of Ben Bertei and David Wickwar, two passionate hospitality stalwarts with 50+ years combined experience.

Ben and David have always dreamt of creating a unique and exciting dining experience that delivers on the things they value most. Expect innovative modern-Asian food, paired with exceptional wine and cocktails; all delivered with old–school hospitality and top-notch service in a vibrant and engaging environment.

Heading up the kitchen is Bertei who comes to Adelaide after a career spanning the UK, Canada and New Zealand which led him to working under Martin Boetz at Longrain. This experience took Bertei to Spirit House, Yandina as head chef and on to LONgTIME and SAMESAME restaurants in Brisbane where he was head chef and partner.

Front-of-house is Wickwar, a British born Maitre’d and Sommelier who honed his service skills over many years; working in London and Europe before stints in iconic Melbourne venues such as Café Di Stasio and Scusa Mi. Wickwar then managed Sapore, achieving and retaining 1 hat in the Age Good Food Guide.

Bertei and Wickwar, dear friends and industry professionals, have migrated to Adelaide with their families to take the next step and realise a life-long ambition of opening their dream venue and so Kiin was born.
