Spend the day visiting towns with great tasty German treats including Lyndoch bakery, Linke's German bakery in Nuriootpa, and Tanunda Bakery for a lunch break.

These bakeries have artisan sourdough, streudselkuchen, and more.

We cross the ranges via Mengler Hill and travel beside Kaiserstuhl Hill (Emperor's chair, 600 metres high) and its Conservation Park. Adjacent is historic Flaxman's Valley before a stop at the Mt Pleasant bakery.

Next we visit the German town of Lobethal and its bakery and finally Woodside bakery.

Bring a bag to take home some purchased goodies.

This will be a fun day with some good historical background on towns and villages along the way.

The tour will depart from the WEA Centre at 223 Angas Street at 8:15am and return at approximately 5:00pm.

Your tour leader Dr Denis Binnion AM has spent 40+ years developing study tours and writing history notes for historical and geographical tours within South Australia, other states of Australia and places around the world including parts of Asia, South America and New Zealand.
