Cyanotype Printmaking with Ellen Schlobohm
Barossa
From $120.00
Event
Join Adelaide-based paper artist and printmaker Ellen Schlobohm in this playful and hands-on introduction to cyanotype printmaking, a slow-reacting photographic print process that involves exposing paper coated with UV-sensitive materials to ultraviolet light to produce a cyan-blue print.
Students will be invited to enjoy a slower process of making and connect to nature; Ellen will guide participants through the use of plant material in the cyanotype printing process to produce their designs, how to consider composition of positive and negative space and different methods to achieve various textures and effects in their finished print.
Participants will have the opportunity to create several cyanotype prints such as art prints, cards and bookmarks, using natural sunlight to complete their prints (if conditions are too cloudy, UV lamps will be used instead).
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners; all required tools and materials will be supplied.
