Step back in time and discover the fascinating Unicorn Brewery Cellars, a hidden gem brimming with history, intrigue, and cinematic charm. Once the beating heart of South Australia's second-largest brewery, these underground cellars now offer visitors a captivating blend of heritage and modern storytelling.

Dating back to 1873, the brewery was an impressive operation, complete with a malting tower, cooper’s workshop, steam engine, and the manager's residence. While the brewery closed in 1902 and much of it was dismantled by 1911, the underground cellars remain—a testament to the ingenuity of the past.

Today, you can wander through 600 metres of underground cellars steeped in history. Adding a thrilling twist, the cellars also served as a filming location for the Australian cult classic Wolf Creek 2. To bring the experience to life, an interactive guide featuring film star John Jarratt welcomes you to the cellars, sharing tales of the brewery's past and behind-the-scenes insights into the movie’s production.

Access to the Unicorn Brewery Cellars is included with the Burra Heritage Passport, available from the Burra and Goyder Visitor Information Centre at 2 Market Square. With your passport key, you can explore the cellars anytime during daylight hours.
