The Freycinet Trail extends 12 kilometres along the coastline of Fitzgerald Bay in the Upper Spencer Gulf. Beginning at the northern end of Fitzgerald Bay it follows the coastline to the southern tip of the bay at Point Lowly.

The trail consisting of hiking, cycling and driving components and is sign posted with trail markers and interpretive signage.

The Fitzgerald Bay hiking trail is four kilometres long offering a leisurely walk along dunes, pebble beaches and bushland. There are access roads to start of this hiking only trail. Trail is clearly defined and hikers are requested to stay on the trail.

The remainder of the trail is suitable for hiking, cycling or driving. It follows the coastal emergency route with spectacular ocean views comparable to Victoria's Great Ocean Road.

Parking, camping and toilets are available at start of trail, car parking is also available at sectors seven and eight.
