Winter Whale Fest 2025

Fleurieu Peninsula

Event
This June, Victor Harbor once again bursts to life with Winter Whale Fest – a month-long celebration honouring our wild coastal environment, remarkable marine life, vibrant culture, intriguing science and boundless creativity.

At the heart of this year's festivities is the story of Kondoli – the whale from Ngarrindjeri Dreaming who gave fire to the people. This powerful story, beautifully shared by Ngarrindjeri Elders, resonates deeply, highlighting the profound and enduring connections between land, waters and culture, and inspiring every aspect of the 2025 program.

The festival promises unforgettable experiences, with highlights including the enchanting Kondoli Lantern Workshops and Parade, and the captivating Water People exhibition. Immerse yourself further with cultural experiences, hands-on community workshops, art-filled afternoons, science talks and guided coastal explorations.

With more than 25 events unfolding across the month – from the Welcoming of the Whales ceremony to native tree planting at the Bluff, and even an exhilarating live metal gig at the Victor Harbor Town Hall – there's truly something for everyone.

We can't wait to welcome you to the coast this winter.
