Kay Brothers Amery Vineyards

Overview

Bordering St Vincent's Gulf, 40 kilometres south of Adelaide, Amery Vineyards grace the rolling foothills of the southern Mount Lofty Ranges.

Established in 1890 by Australian born Herbert and Frederick Kay the heritage listed Kays Amery Winery is the oldest McLaren Vale winery still in founding family hands with third and fourth generations continuing the family tradition with the help of a small dedicated team.

The cellars are located at the top of a hill and the cellar door, which is part of the original winery complex, boasts some stunning panoramic views. If they put deckchairs there no one would ever leave.

The welcome at the cellar door is as friendly as the view is seductive, so allow plenty of time to taste the renowned selection of premium estate wines and explore the family diaries dating from 1891.

The winery offers a wide range of fantastic paid tasting experiences that fully explore the quality red wines that they produce and a true icons of the region. Bookings highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
