Flinders Ranges and Outback
Spend four days four-wheel drive vehicle touring the beautiful and rugged Northern Flinders Ranges. Experience and learn about Aboriginal culture, music, storytelling, bush food, art and environment from the Adnyamathanha people.
Tour highlights include Wadlata Outback Centre's Tunnel of Time Port Augusta, Kanyaka Ruins and Death Rock at Hawker. Wilpena Pound Resort and bushwalk to Wangarra Lookout overlooking Wilpena Pound. Brachina Gorge tracing the geological history of the Flinders Ranges. Sample Aussie food (tucker) at the Prairie Hotel Parachilna. Learn about the Adnyamathanha Aboriginal people's culture and environment at Iga Warta. Continue to Arkaroola visiting Paralana Hot Springs and nearby Yudnamutana Gorge, one of Australia's deepest gorges and Stubbs Waterhole, an expanse of still water in a delightful setting. Return to Adelaide via Chambers Gorge and Blinman stopping at Sacred Canyon a major Aboriginal art site for short walk followed by lunch at Wilpena Pound Resort, then head to Quorn via the Buckaringa and Warren Gorges (time permitting) with afternoon tea at Melrose before continuing back to Adelaide arriving at approximately 6pm.
