Located 15kms from Renmark, Calperum Station is conservation property of approximately 240,000 hectares of protected landscape. Extending from the Murray River to the Mallee country, Calperum covers approximately one third of the Riverland RAMSAR floodplain and considered an internationally significant wetland system. With abundant native birds and wildlife, Calperum is home to rare and threatened species of flora and fauna, and is rich in history

Calperum is managed by a team of Ecologists and Indigenous Rangers who restore and preserve the property. Visitors are invited to experience nature, ecology, culture and conservation activities at their best.

The 'Culture Meets Ecology' Walk winds along ancient creeks and wetlands at Calperum. Guided by Calperum ecologists and rangers, the walk passes various heritage and cultural sites as well as many native plants and animals along the way. The walk takes approximately 3 hrs, available to groups of all sizes.

The 'Calperum Lakes and Wetland Tour', is a driving tour which covers the floodplain and ephemeral lakes. Guided by ecologists and rangers, stops include environmental watering sites, historical heritage and cultural sites. Approximately 3 hours, guests travel in Calperum four-wheel-drive or tag along (vehicle required). The tour is limited to 12 people in Calperum vehicles and 8 self-drive vehicles.

Guests enjoy morning tea prepared by their team including freshly baked Calperum Saltbush damper made on site by our rangers.
