Owned and operated by long-time Coober Pedy opal miner Justin Lang and his partner Bec, their Opal Jewellery Shop & Museum is a unique destination celebrating the natural beauty and history of Australian opals. With over 13 years of hands-on mining experience, Justin sources most of the opals directly from their own mine in Coober Pedy—renowned worldwide for producing some of the finest quality opals.
They offer a stunning range of handcrafted opal jewellery, showcasing only 100% natural Australian opals. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to highlight the unique colours and patterns that make opal one of the world's most captivating gemstones.
Beyond the showroom, visitors can explore the on-site museum, which offers a fascinating look into the formation of opals and the mining process. Through detailed displays and educational exhibits, they'll share the geological wonders and hard work behind every opal's journey from deep underground to polished stone.
One of the highlights of the museum is one of Australia's largest private collections of opalised fossils—rare, ancient specimens that offer a glimpse into prehistoric life and the unique conditions that form these natural treasures.
Whether you're a gem enthusiast, curious traveller, or fossil lover, their shop and museum offer an unforgettable outback experience rich in history, beauty, and discovery.
