Mary MacKillop Museum

Adelaide

From $5.00
Mary MacKillop Museum is located at Kensington, on the historical site established by Mary in 1872. Here she lived and worked until 1883. Her legacy lives on here!

Discover the rich story of Australia's first saint and the courageous women who have followed her since the Sisters of Saint Joseph began in South Australia in 1866. They established schools, ran refuges and orphanages, serving the needs of Australia's remotest and poorest communities.

The award-winning museum caters for walk-in visitors and groups of all kinds. It offers an interactive, hands-on experience, a gift shop and the High Street Cafe. It's part of a precinct which includes:
- Bethany, our conference centre, available for hire for meetings and functions
- St Joseph's Chapel where Australia's first saint prayed
- the starting point for the local Kensington-Norwood Mary MacKilllop Walk

Mary MacKillop Museum is a welcoming place for people of all backgrounds. Its schools' program is run by highly skilled volunteer guides.

The museum is easily accessible by public transport. Bus routes along Norwood Parade and the Circle Bus line.
