Oaklands Wetland is a natural open space which is home to a diversity of wildlife including birds, aquatic life and protected species.

One of the main purposes of the wetland is to provide a clean water supply to more than 30 local reserves and other open spaces throughout southern Adelaide, although it is a popular recreation space, with walking trails, sheltered picnic areas, a nearby skate park and nature playground.

Free guided tours of Oaklands Wetlands are held on the second Thursday of the month.
