Renowned for his rich, nuanced voice and fresh approach to soul music, Jalen Ngonda is on the rise. His critically acclaimed debut album Come Around and Love Me (2023) peaked at #4 on the UK Album Downloads Chart and received praise from Snoop Dogg, Kehlani and Elton John, who predicted that "he is going to be a huge star". Since then Ngonda has played sold-out tours in the USA, UK and Europe, including performances at Glastonbury in 2024 and 2025, where he captivated audiences with music that possesses a nostalgia for the golden era of soul, but performed by an artist who is very much of his time. Other accolades have followed, such as being included in Rolling Stone magazine's 2025 Future of Music list, where he was described as the "leading soul revivalist of this decade".
