One of the UK's most electrifying voices, Obongjayar's sound embraces his dual cultural heritage, filtering the playful warmth and texture of West African rhythms and cadence through a daringly modern gaze. Raised by his grandmother in Calabar, Nigeria, before moving to London as a teen, his music is a singular blend of the worlds he moves through. His critically acclaimed debut album Some Nights I Dream of Doors was nominated for the Ivor Novello Award for Best Album in 2023, and his collaboration with fred again.. saw their single 'Adore U' go platinum in Australia and the UK. His latest album Paradise Now features some of his most intimate storytelling yet, candy-coated in electro-pop synths, soaring strings, ever-contagious percussion and the magic of his sweet, sultry voice.
