Wrap yourself in colour, creativity, and community at Yarn Bombing Day – Worldwide Knit in Public Day.

A free, drop‑in celebration of yarn art, crochet, and community connection, with hands‑on activities that bring Hurtle Square and its surrounding areas to life in vibrant colour.

Due to the long‑range wet weather forecast, we've made the decision to move Yarn Bombing Day indoors. The event will now take place at the Box Factory Community Centre. Reserve your ticket today to be part of this colourful community activation. You'll still be able to yarn bomb the Forest of Dreams and nearby areas, with further details provided on the day.

Settle into the cosy community knit‑in, learn new skills from friendly facilitators, or add your touch to the vibrant yarn installations taking shape across the precinct. Enjoy a BBQ lunch or a warm drink while you stitch, chat, and create.

Everyone's welcome — beginners, makers, families, and curious passers‑by alike.

This event brings the community together to learn new skills, socialise, and contribute to a growing public art installation. Where appropriate, materials will be retained and stored for future donations and installations, ensuring the project continues to benefit the community.

'This event has consulted with and has the support of the family of Anton Hart to yarn bomb The Forest of Dreams.'
